Today we are going to talk about a tool that has become essential in any fitness room, personal training studio or at home. What type of training can I do with elastic bands?
- Rehabilitative work. For example, for the shoulder girdle or knee.
- Specific strength work making ranges of motion difficult in exercises such as bench press, deadlift, squat or hipthrust.
- Assistance to progress in pull-ups.
- Strength exercise to do a complete or complementary routine within the training.
It is a tool that I use within the functional training program because they are very useful for making a smooth transition between calisthenics and strength work with weights.
When my clients have mastered bodyweight exercises and basic movement techniques but are still beginners, I introduce resistance exercise with super elastic bands before taking the step to weights. It generates more confidence and helps develop strength, preparing them for later work with dumbbells, bars and kettlebells.
